At its business meeting on June 11, the Board of Education approved the following administrative appointments:

• Meredith L. Benning, Assistant Director, Department of Human Capital Management, Office of Human Resources and Development, Office of the Chief of Staff
• Raquel M. Carson, Supervisor, Elementary English Learners and Multilingual Education, Office of Curriculum and Instructional Programs, Office of the Chief Academic Officer, Office of the Deputy Superintendent

In Memoriam

Panthea R. Mitchell, teacher at Greencastle Elementary School, died on May 12. She was 65 years old and worked for MCPS for nearly 30 years.

Leslie S. Weigel-Medwetsky, paraeducator at Cashell Elementary School, died on May 26. She was 64 years old and had nearly five years of service with MCPS.

Zanashia M. Rowe, paraeducator at Cannon Road Elementary School, died on June 9. She was 25 years old and worked for MCPS for more than four years.
